Introduction
Flos Aim is a well-known pendant light designed by brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. It has gained popularity for its minimalist design and adjustable lighting direction. However, the Flos Aim pendant light can be quite expensive. This guide will help you build your own Flos Aim Nachbau pendant light at a fraction of the cost.
Materials
To build your own Flos Aim Nachbau pendant light, you will need the following materials:
- An E27 socket lamp holder
- A long black cord
- A metal shade
- A metal wire cage
- A black canopy
- A Phillips screwdriver
- A wire stripper
- A black electrical tape
Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your Flos Aim Nachbau pendant light:
Step 1: Wire the Lamp Holder
Strip the ends of the black cord to expose the wires. Connect the wires to the lamp holder. Use electrical tape to secure the connection.
Step 2: Assemble the Shade and Cage
Attach the wire cage to the metal shade by aligning the holes and screwing in the screws. Once assembled, attach the shade and cage assembly to the lamp holder by inserting the lamp holder through the hole on the shade.
Step 3: Install the Canopy
Screw the black canopy onto the ceiling, ensuring that it is securely attached to the electrical box.
Step 4: Hang the Pendant Light
Hang the Flos Aim Nachbau pendant light by threading the black cord through the canopy, pulling down the amount of cord needed to hang the pendant light at the desired height. Tie a knot in the cord and attach it to the lamp holder.
